Lubricants: water-based, silicone or hybrid?

Water-based lubricants are the most versatile choice. They are suitable for condoms and most sex toys, wash off easily and don't leave a greasy feeling. During longer use, however, they may need to be reapplied.

Silicone lubricants last longer and don't wash off with water, so they are suitable, for example, for the shower. With silicone toys, however, always follow the manufacturer's recommendation. The safest choice to go with them is usually a water-based lubricant.

Hybrid lubricants combine the properties of both types. They differ in thickness, slipperiness and composition.
